Gwadar to emerge as a modern maritime and logistics powerhouse, says Maritime Affairs Minister

Gwadar: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, reaffirmed the government’s vision to transform Gwadar into a cutting-edge maritime and logistics hub, tapping into the vast economic potential of Balochistan’s coastline.
In a strategic meeting with Chairman Gwadar Port Authority Noor ul Haque, the Minister emphasized the urgency of implementing concrete measures to improve port operations and expand maritime infrastructure.
Highlighting the region’s economic prospects, the Minister noted Gwadar’s significance not only in shipping but also in the agro-industrial sectors. He stressed the value of investing in fishing and date-processing industries in Gwadar, Panjgur, and Kech to create local employment and bolster exports.
Plans were also discussed to establish an Off-Dock Terminal near the New Gwadar International Airport, a move expected to enhance logistical connectivity, particularly for landlocked Central Asian states.
