Italy stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 down 0.22%

Rome: Italy stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Travel & Leisure, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.22%.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 2.32% or 1.10 points to trade at 48.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) added 1.12% or 0.03 points to end at 2.44 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) was up 1.02% or 0.13 points to 12.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which fell 1.29% or 1.29 points to trade at 98.76 at the close. Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) declined 1.25% or 0.94 points to end at 74.56 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI) was down 0.93% or 0.06 points to 6.62.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 315 to 315 and 43 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) rose to all time highs; up 1.02% or 0.13 to 12.84.

Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.95% or 1.24 to $64.90 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.62% or 1.09 to hit $68.31 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.03% or 1.18 to trade at $3,417.32 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 98.02.
