Islamabad: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Chinese citizens and projects by further strengthening security measures in the federal capital.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Security Syed Zeeshan Haider, chaired a high-level meeting with a Chinese security officer at the SSP office to review and enhance safety protocols for the Chinese Embassy, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, and Chinese nationals residing in Islamabad.
Both sides agreed to upgrade protective measures, improve intelligence coordination, and implement a foolproof security plan. SSP Zeeshan emphasized that Islamabad Police are employing modern surveillance technologies, Safe City cameras, and advanced communication systems to ensure maximum safety, Pakistani official media reported.
“The protection of Chinese nationals and institutions remains our top priority,” he stressed, adding that the police are utilizing all available resources to guarantee a secure environment for bilateral cooperation.
This renewed focus on security comes as China-Pakistan cooperation deepens in diverse fields, including agriculture, trade, technology, and infrastructure, with Chinese professionals and enterprises playing an increasingly active role in Pakistan’s development.
