Pakistan-China diplomatic ties anniversary celebrated

Islamabad: Islamabad Council of World Affairs (ICWA) in collaboration with Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) organised an online seminar to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Pakistan.

The seminar reviewing 70 years of extra-ordinary China-Pakistan bilateral relations, focused on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), regional and global issues of mutual interests. Both sides exchanged views on regional situation in South Asia in the changing global dynamics.

Ambassador Nong Rong, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan and Ambassador Moinul Haque, Pakistan’s ambassador to China to made keynote speeches during the opening ceremony, said a news release.

Wang Chao President, CPIFA and Ambassdor Khalid Mahmood President of ICWA led the respective delegations. On Pakistan side, delegation comprised, Amanullah Khan, Vice President ICWA, Ambassdor Rizwanul Haq Mahmood, Secretary General ICWA.

Other participants were Ambassador Syed Tariq Fatemi, Former Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Foreign Affairs, former foreign secretaries Ambassador Riaz Mohammad Khan, Ambassador Riaz H. Khokhar, Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry. Former Ambassador of Pakistan to China Ambassdor Masood Khalid as well as President Center of Pakistan and International Relations (COPAIR) Amna Malik, Dr. Fazalur Rehman, and Raja Amer Iqbal addressed the seminar.

They all highlighted the time tested friendship of Pakistan and China and hoped it will keep on growing forever.

After the webinar, Chinese ambassador Nong Rong said he was glad to participate in the seminar celebrating 70th Anniversary of Establishment of China-Pak Diplomatic Relations, organized by CPIFA and ICWA.

“A good review on time-tested all-weather strategic cooperative partnership and discussion on way forward with intellectual input from both sides,” he said.
