Lahore: Trilateral cooperation between Pakistan, China and the United States was discussed at the Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Secretariat here.

Shahid Ahmed Khan, the Advisor to the President of the United States of America, discussed trilateral relations between the US, Pakistan, and China during a meeting attended by executive committee members of PCJCCI, along with prominent business leaders from both Pakistan and China.on the occasion, PCJCCI President Moazzam Ghurki expressed that the economies of America and China had the potential to complement Pakistan’s economy in various fields, and he emphasized the importance of enhancing trade and economic ties for mutual benefits.

Ali Raza Rizvi, Chairman of PCJCCI’s Standing Committee on Diplomatic & Government Relations and Gwadar Tourism Promotion & CPEC Projects, highlighted the areas in Pakistan’s business climate that require strengthening, including regulation, intellectual property protection, and taxation.

He called for support from the United States and China to improve the business climate and promote private sector linkages between the two countries.

Shahid Ahmed Khan remarked that the United States had been a significant export market for Pakistan, importing over $5 billion worth of Pakistani goods in 2021, surpassing any other country. Additionally, the US has been a major investor in Pakistan for the past two decades, with direct investments increasing by 50 percent in the recent fiscal year.

He emphasized the potential for business ideas and investment opportunities in America and encouraged a delegation from China and Pakistan to visit the US, assuring them of the US embassy’s support and cooperation.

Vice President of the joint PCJCCI, Hamza Khalid, acknowledged the importance of America as a crucial trading partner for Pakistan and expressed that the US’s support in initiating innovative business ideas would contribute to stabilizing Pakistan’s economy.

Salahuddin Hanif, Secretary General of PCJCCI, stated that the chamber aims to enhance regional connectivity by strengthening bilateral and trilateral trade relations among the countries.
