Islamabad: Pakistani Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, has said that there had been no request from the US for Pakistan to withdraw from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In an interview, Ambassador Masood Khan said that as former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif previously stated the CPEC goes beyond being a set of individual projects and it symbolizes shared prosperity and development.

He maintained that over the past decade, the CPEC has been crucial for Pakistan’s socio-economic progress.

“It has addressed energy shortages, built high-quality infrastructure, and enhanced connectivity not only within Pakistan but also with neighboring countries,” the envoy added.

He asserted that the US should play a role in bringing India to the negotiation table.
