Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Chinese giant TikTok signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting digital safety within government schools across Pakistan.

This collaborative effort encompasses a multifaceted approach, including comprehensive training programs and guidelines for teachers, parents, and students.

These educational initiatives will be carried out through various means such as workshops, seminars, webinars, and awareness videos.

The primary goal is to educate individuals about the responsible use of social media and address associated risks.

Key figures present at this significant event included Chairman PTA, Major General Hafeez ur Rehman (retd) and others. From TikTok, Fahad Khan Niazi, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations, Pakistan, and Zara Basharat Higgs, Head of Public Policy Programs South Asia, were in attendance.

During the event, Chairman PTA emphasized the organization’s unwavering commitment to digital safety.

This partnership between PTA and TikTok, a prominent social media platform, serves as a reaffirmation of PTA’s dedication to creating a more secure online environment.
