Caretaker KP chief minister Azam Khan passes away

Peshawar: Caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Azam Khan passed away on Saturday.

According to the spokesperson of the Rehman Medical Institute, Peshawar, Azam Khan was shifted to the private hospital on Friday night when his health deteriorated.

According to media reports, Khan was suffering from a severe stomach infection and suffered a heart attack on Friday night. As per sources, quoting family and officials, he died at 10:25am on Saturday.

The hospital spokesman, Shabbir Shah, said Azam Khan was suffering from various diseases and was in a critical condition.

He was shifted to the Peshawar hospital on Friday night. Due to his illness, he had limited his movement for the past few days.

The chief minister house confirmed the death of Azam Khan, saying he had been unwell since Friday due to which the cabinet meeting was also cancelled.

The late CM only held a meeting with a UNHCR representative delegation, after which he was taken to hospital where he died this morning.
