PCJCCI chief aims to boost fisheries and mining potential in Balochistan

Islamabad: The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) is strategizing to boost the fisheries and mining potential of Balochistan province to enhance the socioeconomic well-being of its residents. “Effective utilization of these resources is crucial for uplifting the socioeconomic status of Balochistan’s populace,” said Moazzam Ghurki, President of PCJCCI,

The chamber is actively organizing business-to-business (B-to-B) meetings to foster collaboration between Chinese and Pakistani business sectors. The aim is to bolster the fisheries and mining industries in Balochistan by attracting both local and foreign investors.

Ghurki emphasized the pivotal role of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), particularly the economically incentivized zones, in driving socioeconomic advancement, particularly in Balochistan.

“This initiative will unlock substantial opportunities for the province, particularly through the strategic Gwadar Port,” he noted.

In a statement, he also mentioned that Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and China have agreed to designate specific areas in Gwadar and Tashkent for establishing warehouses to facilitate the transport of goods to neighboring regions.

“PCJCCI is keen on launching its proprietary business and consultancy ventures, particularly within the fisheries and minerals sectors.”
