Islamabad: Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a nationwide photography competition, offering cash prizes of up to Pakistani Rs 100,000.

This announcement was made via HEC’s official social media channels on Saturday afternoon. This competition is open to photographers of all levels, whether they are amateurs or seasoned professionals. Importantly, there are no age restrictions for participation, meaning individuals of all age groups are encouraged to showcase their photographic skills.

The central theme for this photography contest revolves around ‘CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) projects and their significant impact on Pakistan’s economy, infrastructure, and environment.’ Entrants are required to capture and emphasize the most noteworthy CPEC projects across the nation.

A total of ten prizes will be awarded to participants. The highest prize, amounting to Rs 100,000, will be presented to a single winner. Three participants will receive second-place prizes, each consisting of cheques worth Rs 80,000. Additionally, six photographers will be awarded third-place prizes, each comprising cheques valued at Rs. 50,000.

To have a chance at winning these cash prizes, participants must send their photos in JPG format via email to photo.contest@pakistan-china.com. The email submission should also include a scanned copy of the participant’s Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) or passport, along with their contact information.

It mandatory that each photograph includes the photographer’s name and email address. Above all, ensure that “My Photo” in the subject line of your email is mentioned, the HEC announcement said. The deadline for submitting your entries for this competition is October 9, 2023.
